Google Scholar: How can I find the full articles?

You can set up Google Scholar to link to full articles available through SU Libraries. Check out this quick video for instructions:

Step-by-step instructions:

  • Select the menu in the upper left corner.
  • Click Settings.
  • Click Library Links.
  • Enter Shenandoah University.
  • Select the checkbox for each option and click Save.

After you set up the links, you will see "Full Text @ Shenandoah" links for articles that the library provides.

To look for a specific article, search using its title. For example, imagine that you have the citation below, and you want to find the full text of the article.

Szwedo, D. E., Mikami, A. Y., & Allen, J. P. (2012). Social networking site use predicts changes in young adults' psychological adjustment. Journal of Research on Adolescence, 22, 453-466.

Go to Google Scholar and select the menu in the upper left corner, then click Advanced Search. Enter the article title in the "exact phrase" box.
